Kermit Gosnell

A doctor of Philadelphia has been found guilty of murdering three babies with scissors after they were born alive during late-term abortions at his clinic serving low-income women, and now faces the possibility of the death penalty for first degree murder. At least the prosecutors said they will ask for that. Kermit Gosnell, also was found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter in the case of a woman who died after a drug overdose after going to his clinic for an abortion.

The case focused on whether the three infants were born alive and then killed in an abortion clinic described as a “house of horrors” in testimony read to the court. Prosecutors said he performed late-term abortions in a state where the limit is set at 24 weeks in a place without conditions and with personal without qualification. And they explain that when babies emerged still alive, he used scissors to sever their spines and “terminated” them. He denied this, insisting that all babies were already dead as a result of the drug he was using in the abortion to stop their hearts into the womb before. Witness testimony described the babies as born breathing, moving and making sounds. All this according the agencies that followed the trial.

In this case of death all around it is worth to ask some questions. Like what is the difference between killing the baby inside the mother with a drug than outside with scissors minutes after because the first attempt failed, and it’s still alive. It is a killing both ways, but for the law only is a murder if it takes place outside the womb.

And the death of the woman for a drug overdose is also a horrible killing. A doctor has to know how to use his drugs.

The other question is why the doctor is facing death also, because of a society that can’t or doesn’t want to find a way to defend itself from crimes but with killing the convicted criminals, when there are other ways like life in prison or similar.

I believe every human live is something very serious, and no human being has the right to decide the latest fate of other by force. I’m against all kind of killing human lives,  against violence in this world plenty of guns, crimes, terrorism and wars. We have to work for peace and life with dignity from the beginning to the end. In this case I agree Mr. Gosnell is guilty of murder, according to the reports I read, and I think he has to pay, but I don’t think he has to be killed for that.
