My goal

Hi!, My name is Olga Brajnović. I’m a journalist with more than 30 years of experience in the job. I have worked mostly in Spain, but because of my Croatian background I reported about the former Yugoslavia’s dissolution and the Balkan’s war as a correspondent, and years after that I worked in the US (NYC and SF,CA) for a News Agency from Spain. That gives me certain knowledge of Western, Central, Eastern Europe and the US that makes me see the  World News from a triple perspective. I know there are zillions of blogs in this field of World news, but I enjoy introducing my opinions in this new world of communication. Nothing too complicated. A simple observatory from my little office today planted in Pamplona, Spain.

  1. Dear Olga
I am so proud to be your brother in law, I had enjoyed a lot reading your opinions and points of view…
I would like you to continue write down all your comments.
please let me know what do you think about the actual crisis!!!..
    congratulations!
    Angelino Zambrano

  2. Thank You for your comment. I’m no an expert in economics so I have to study a little more what’s going and answer your question all right. I only can say that I’m not fan of the capitalism at easy because does things like this crisis.
Somebody has to watch over and has failed.
I think that when something like this happen to great corporations they have to be accountable like everybody, when it has a big debt.
Nobody gives ME money to pay my debts when I made bad calculations. The State gives away money for me in form of very high taxes and I am a worker with no too high income.
Plus, I am suspicious of the timing of all this, right when the US is in election mood and between Russia and some Arab countries there is coming an energetic crisis that will hit Europe hard this winter. This is all I can say right now maybe I’ll post something in the future about this.

  3. Hola Olga:
Soy Marga.

  4. Hola Olga! Reading your blog is going to mark a new phase in my life, i’m going to know about so much more than… well, what I already know 🙂 Keep the posts coming, you’re getting more readers!

  5. thanks Ify. at least I have one very valuable and nice.

  6. Unquestionably believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the net the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people think about worries that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

  7. Thank you, this is from the other corner of the globe.
No big writing like you. But I enjoyed reading what your wrote in your blog.

  8. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I’m glad you liked my work. I have visited your blog. Very interesting.

  9. Hvala lijepo za Vašu komentare na mom blogu – oprostite, moja gramatika nije baš dobra, posebno kad pišem na bosanskom/hrvatskom… ali učim, učim 🙂
Your blog is wonderful – such a wealth of information & opinions, looking forward to reading your articles! Pozdravi iz Irske

  10. Ni moja gramatika je dobra, nikad sam učila gramatika Hrvatskoga ježika, samo govorim doma, s mamom i kad putovam u Domovinu. Možemo se razumijeti na Engleski bolje, mislim.
Thank you very much for your comment. I’m trying…

  11. Možemo 😉 would love to hear more from you – trying to get my blog started in between work and 3 kids. Hope I can get it going – just as a small piece of intercultural sharing… Raining here in Ireland – two weeks ago we were in Croatia, swimming in the Adriatic – lijepi Cavtat, blizu Dubrovnika…:)

  12. I’m sure you’ll succeed with your blog. It is a great idea. You seem to have a lot of activity. I envy you. I won’t be able to go to Croatia this year. Im taking care of my mother paralyzed because of an ictus. She is from Senj, near Rijeka. My Dad was from Kotor. They knew each other in Zagreb when they were students.

  13. So sorry to hear about your mother, Olga. It must be very difficult for both of you. I stopped briefly in Rijeka in 93 or 94 – the harbour and a fine square, if I remember. Also I travelled through and stayed a few days in Zagreb while going between refugee camps at that time – a lovely city! Kotor is such a beautiful town too – we visited it a few years ago, a real historical gem. So many wonderful places in the Balkans… Hoping to add some more to my blog over the weekend. Take care 🙂 Bronagh

  14. Olga thanks again for taking part in Project O! I hope that the project provided what you expected and thanks for taking the time to respond to comments as well! -OM

  15. Thank you for your project. I’m following all the contributions I can. It’s really interesting. I think it is a success for you and a great experience for all of us. it has been for me.

  16. Thank you I am glad you feel that way!

  17. Thanks so much for visiting my blog, It is kind of you to hit the “like” button and let me know you’ve dropped by. I am very busy trying to complete a novel these days and seldom have time to visit other blog sites, but yours certainly has a unique flavor to it.
Thanks for taking the time to put together your blog and share a reasonable look at the world.

  18. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, commenting and encouraging me. I’m honoured you liked it. Good luck with your novel. I’m looking forward to read it!

  19. Thank you for liking my poem, Olga.

  20. I really like the way you cover current events. That said, I am going to include your blog on my blog role. (I’m currently writing a novel that includes a small town newspaper as a backdrop.) .

  21. Well, thank you. I’m honoured. I love the idea of a small town newspaper in a novel. I spent my life working for a newspaper.

  22. I’m so glad you read and commented on my blog today. I would probably not have found you if not for that. What you are presenting here is exactly what I’ve been looking for in news.

  23. Thank you for your kind comment. I’m also glad to have find your great blog.

  24. This blog is great. I often find the news either overwhelming or too superficial (depending on the channel!). This is a great digest that gives me a broad picture of issues that are important. You have a clear analytical style of writing that does justice to the facts without being sentimental. If a story is too heart breaking it can be difficult to read from beginning to end. I am so glad to find this blog, it is news I can read! Thank you.

  25. I’m glad you liked it. I’m trying to do just why you said. But it’s difficult being alone to do all the work. I’m trying my best.

  26. I understand that. Great job though!

  27. I am fascinated to come across someone reporting on matters from eastern Europe (which phrase I use deliberately, of course). If you’re looking for sources on Australia, you could do a lot worse than our on-line magazine called “The Monthly” – http://www.themonthly.com.au/
which will keep you very much up-to-date.

  28. I hope the family situation you mentioned has a good out come and you will be back to posting soon. I hope it is nothing bad.
    Kenton Lewis.

  29. Thank you for your concern, Kenton. My mom has been hospitalized and I’m busy taking care of her. I also hope this will have a good out come.

  30. thank you

  31. Thanks for liking my blog. Will follow your. Seems like you have a lot of knowledge about journalism, something I wish to have in the future.

  32. Your pictures are great. Good luck with your journey!

  33. thanks. the same to you!

  34. Hi Olga, I clicked on your gravatar and that lead me to your page. My first impression was ‘wow, this is really professional’, then I searched for your ‘about’ page. You are such an awesome journalist indeed. Great writings. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

  35. You sounds right by saying that
‘There are zillions of blogs in this field of World news”,
And even i am following most of them, including yours….

But the beauty is in diversity, it’s a creative field and the same material can be craft with a different prospective and angle, and by doing so, one can even enhance the core soul of material.

I would like to say, that i literally love the way you pick up the items,
your preference of articles for the particular day.
And the way you carry the whole thing is simply amazing …

A great content as well as the packaging is simply fabulous !.

    Cheers !!

  36. Thank you so much. Your comment is encouraging!

  37. Hi Olga, great blog! I don’t watch TV, so your blog is a good way to get information of what is going on in the world.

  38. Thank you! I’m trying to comment and post links and news about a wide range of topics but at being alone in this effort, is difficult to cover all what’s happening around the World.

  39. I really like your news site. It is fast, friendly, and freaking awesome! Keep it up! I’ve enjoyed it very much. I have never commented on it until now, so thank you.

  40. Thank you

  41. Hello there! I just wanted to say that you have an incredible blog, and that I find your content insightful, refreshing, and apt!
