Ukraine: meetings and harsh reality
Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande are trying to mediate between Ukrainian President Poroshenko and Russian president Putin to stop the bloodshed in Eastern Ukraine where nobody observes the cease-fire. On the contrary the fighting intensifies each day. The UN estimates that there have been more than 5,300 killed and almost one million displaced people since last April.
President Obama will stop the NSA spying on allies, the head of US Senate’s Intelligence Committee, Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat, said in a statement after the scandal prompted by the news that the US spy agency intercepted German Chancellor’s Angela Merkel cell phone from 2002 along with 34 other world leaders. Too late. With this statement they admit it’s true. The trust is completely broken. The damage done.

Five years blogging!
Five years blogging from this spot! Since my first post about the US presidential campaign, the first one for Obama, to this day, hundreds of stories have found a place in this blog. Comments, links, selected news about topics I considered interesting and I hope my readers and followers too.
Obama, Merkel and St. Augustine
Don’t ask me why, but I recently began reading “The City of God” by St. Augustine, bishop of Hippo in the 5th Century and I was in shocked from the beginning realizing how right for our time is that compilation of books. Another European economic Summit, another waiting in this European agony without definitive solutions with some hope to calm the waters in this storm. At the beginning of the day the European Bank said that there was no way to see Greece out of the Euro. At the end of the day there were calculations of […]
Who will lead Europe now?
The socialist Françoise Hollande won the presidency of France and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel lost her best ally in this time of economic crisis in the European Union, Nicolas Sarkozy, the first incumbent president who lost an re-election in 31 years in his Country. Until now, the front French-German was leading the policies of […]
Why don't save the Euro...peans?

And they are proposing a sort of re-foundation of the European Union that will force the members to include in their constitutions some economic measures, like don’t trespass the 3% of deficit yearly. The Ship is sinking and […]
